Thien Cung Caves (Halong Bay, Vietnam)
By jykwan | January 1, 2008
Based on my previous post about Halong bay, I am going to talk about the Thien Cung Caves in this post. Thien Cung caves is a main stop point when you visit the Halong Bay area. The whole cave is made out of limestone and it’s a natural build. The cave goes in from 1 end and come out from another end not far away. Inside the cave is big. With the colorful lighting, the caves are very nicely decorated. I do have to say that my camera was not able to take night shots as it was very dark and my hads were not still enough to take the night shots. I just used normal shots, make the shutter open abit longer and enabled flash. the pictures are still ok thou for me. Its still better to go there and see for your self as its a recommended place to visit.
The first view when you enter the cave.

Third view of the cave
At this time, if you actually stay still and observe around, you could see different kinds of limestone shapes. If you use your imagination, you could actually see things that resemble human mythology and figurings. What a coincidence.
A resemblance of a dragon

Sixth view around the cave
Again here i have to say that it can be quite wet cause since this is a limestone cave, there is water dripping from the ceiling sometimes. You also hve to be careful when walking cause since the floor is wet, you could easily slip. When you are busy looking around, don’t forget to watch where you are stepping cause at some places the path is not even and there are sudden steps at time.

and another view around the cave
Overall the cave visit was good. The display of lighting in the limestone cave was very nice. The cave was not very hard to walk around. you just need to watch your step and everything will be ok. When you visit Halong bay, this is the stop that you will get down to see one of natures hidden beauty of limestones.
