This was just a random trip to try out my new camera skills on taking pictures of moving water. Sungai Gabai is a local recreation site for the small village of Kampung Gabai. Its a place where the locals can relax and enjoy themselves anytime of the day especially when the weather is hot. Visitors can take a dip in the water as the water is cool and nice.

The safest highest point of the Gabai falls

Still at the highest point, but another smaller gentle fall

The starting point of the big fall to the second highest point.

The big fall seen from an observation point.

The view from the foot of the big fall.

The last and the lowest fall

Warning sign

There is a small food stall center just at the bottom of the fall if you’re hungry or thirsty

Just a random flower

Just a week ago, i took a whole weeks leave from work just to get away from stress and relax. The place i chose was Pulau Tenggol. A small island 25KM off the coast of Terengannu state, Malaysia. The small little island is known for its diving recreation. Snorkelling is not that popular as there is not much shallow water around. I as a diver took this opportunity to dive all i like and did 10 dives during my 4 days 3 nights stay there. Unfortunately my camera is not ready for underwater photography as i do not have the casing for it. Hopefully in the future i would. So here are the pictures that i took on land. There isn’t much as i spent too much time diving but atleast its nice.

Fishing boat out at sea

The view of the resort from the boat.

The resort i stayed in was Pulau Tenggol Beach Resort. Do not expect great luxuries from this little island. Water is pumped from an underground source. Electricity is generated from a generator from 6pm to 9am. Hot water is provided thou, using gas. Expect the basic of all amenities.

The beach view out to sea.

Another beach view

During my stay there, there was a joint venture military exercise between the Malaysian and US Navy. As you can see the US cargo frigate anchored out there.

The beach does have a few nice games to play.

Sunset on the first day i was there (zoomed in)

sunset (zoomed out)

the view from the sunset point focusing on pulau nyireh (a small remote island where 3 dive sites are located)

The view of one part of pulau tenggol (3 dive sites are located near here)

One of the cliffs of pulau tenggol, Gua Rajawali dive site is just next to it.

The beginning of the sunset from sunset point.

The sun disappearing behind the clouds

sunset (zoomed in)

The remaining rays of the sun.

That’s about all of the pictures i took. It is very unfortunate that i didn’t get to take any underwater pictures as i actually saw alot of nice things especially the extremely rare and elusive whale shark. What a pity.

The information of the hotel i stayed at is here http://www.pulautenggol.com/
